Primary Cleft Lip and Nose Repair

This procedure not only corrects the cleft lip deformity, but completely restores the nose , both anatomically and physiologically by a delicate repositioning of the nasal septum and the nasal cartilages.
Growth is excellent and symmetrical , and a good lip , nose form is maintained across the years.
The speech and functional therapists intervenes at this early age in teaching techniques of massaging, moulding of facial muscles so as to allow them to reach their fullest function and growth over the next few years. This allows formal speech therapy to be initiated at a later date.
